Inside every MWG is a desire to disconnect from the fast-paced, content-saturated world we live in. A need to recalibrate life’s compass even if only a few degrees. It’s not easy. The device to which you are probably reading this can keep us locked in like a ball and chain. A love-hate relationship that has effects we still don’t understand.

That calling inside of you is something wild. It’s inherent to you and a common feeling among us Midwesterners who seek simplicity in our daily life and lucky for us, there is a place right here that will heed that call, the Boundary Water Canoe Area of northern Minnesota. It is a mecca, a temple of open water, pristine wilderness and authentic wildlife. Generations of Midwesterners have been affected by the power the BWCA holds, each person’s journey different but often with the same results – a life seeking that refuge more and more.

Chesterfield Pictures brings to you This WIld Land, a short documentary that talks about the people who have heeded that call in protecting this Midwestern gem. From environmentalist Sigurd Olson to the people that call it home today. Not without controversy, it continues to be a place worth fighting for.

Cheers…
