So, it may be an urban legend or just an outdated law, whatever it is… it is awesome. Long ago there were true Midwestern Gentlemen setting up a small town in central Minnesota. They were there to instill laws to keep order and keep peace. They knew that the town was to be built around a moral code and beards. That is correct, beards. If you find yourself in Brainerd, Minnesota make sure you don’t speed, don’t kill anyone and make sure you have a beard. In Brainerd it is required that all men living in its community have a beard, by law.
For a Midwestern Gentleman the beard is always an option. He enjoys sporting a facial forest but always knows when it is time to clean up. A beard is something that is pure man and expresses true masculinity. It keeps you warm at night and allows you to survive in the brush if need be. It has carried great men like Abraham Lincoln and Josey Wales and makes NFL lineman look more intense than the 6’8” 300lb frame they sit in.
In conclusion, grow a beard. If it is just for a week, take the time to celebrate being man and being a rugged Midwesterner.
